We've moved!



Greetings!

A lot has happened since our last update and many changes have taken place.

Mainly the project lead had to step back due to life and take a break to focus on other things. In that break, data was reviewed, game design plans were tweaked and project foundations were solidified.

The project has now entered a new era. JDWasabi Studios is now known as Jade-Wasabi Studios, and Hungry Whispers shall live on under that banner.

Lastly, a huge thanks for the support and joining us on this eye opening journey. Here's to kicking ass and making things a reality!

We are delighted to be invited to host another panel session at this year's ReadCon!

I'll be talking about our Wasabi Adventures over the past 3 years or so and being part of an amazing community.  The indie game industry is a fascinating bubble to be a part of!


In other news, apologies for being very quiet on our production blog.  Lots of things have happened over the months and we've been busy working on a Renpy demo of Hungry Whispers so that we could test drive the script / dialogue. The plan is to translate that into Unity in future but so far, we're taking baby steps!

Some progress!

Here's a visual progress dump report. You may have noticed that we've been a bit quiet on our blog accounts but it actually means that we've been busy turning our script into storyboards, audio, visual concepts and more.  Stay tuned!

Some environmental concept art is being finalised!


Some actual concept art!  I'm not an artist but it was pretty fun to start painting again. Here some bite size updates that we've been focusing on.

Story: 
The overall plot has been written but is currently going through another revision. Some bits are being rewritten and tweaked out and I've a good feeling about the current version.  Some old elements are being brought back and improved while new ideas are being ironed out. Implementing them is another matter and is highly dependent on them being tested!

Art: 
The art team has been focusing on solidifying the environment for the first instalment of Hungry Whispers. Much like our first demo, it starts out on a sleeper train.  After some discussion and refinement, we wanted to redesign the the backgrounds to suit the new script!
